their NIN (National Identity Number).
Q: What are the requirements for a corporate NIN - SIM Harmonization?
A: The requirements are:

• List of other Users and their NIN
• Corporate Affairs Commission document (applicable to customers not listed on Nigeria
Stock Exchange)

A: No. Only Tax Certificate and/or TIN of the corporate organization is acceptable

A: The below documents are required for the registration of New customers

• Legal instrument of Operation (applicable to MDAs, Government agencies).
Q: Who is a Primary Telecom Master (TM)?
A: The minimum executive management level staff who shall bear the authorized
responsibility for MSISDNs acquired by the corporate organization and provide the operational
primary NIN representation.
Q: If I, as an executive management staff of a corporate organization, link my NIN to the
company lines as Pry Telecoms Master, will the staff have access to my NIN when they dial *346# or
the retrieval code?
A: No. Staff will only have access to their personal NIN enrolled with their
MSISDN
Q: Who is a Secondary Telecom Master (Operational TM)?
A: A staff of a corporate customer who is responsible for the operational running
of the corporate account based on authorization by the corporate entity.
The primary Telecom master can delegate operational activities to a secondary TM. This individual
must also be nominated via an authorization letter from the business.
Q: Is it compulsory to have an Operational Telecom Master?
A: No. This is optional for the corporate entity
Q: Must an account have a Telecom Master?
A: Yes.
Q: Must the Corporate – Individual accounts have a Telecom Master?
A: Yes. However, individual registration of lines shall be required.
Q: As the Primary Telecom Master, what are my responsibilities/ liabilities?
A: The Telco Master’s responsibilities shall include the following:
• Shall take responsibility for all SIM cards issued to His/Her organization by the Mobile
Network Operator and to notify the MNO of any missing/ lost/ damaged/ misplaced SIM card within 6
hours of loss of SIM.
• Irrevocably undertake to protect and put in place adequate measures to secure and back-up
all data processed or stored in the SIM Cards.
• Notify Mobile Network Operators (MNO) within 24hours of any change in Telecommunication
master/company representative with a replacement of the referenced Telecom Master
• Undertake to ensure that the SIM cards and any other communication services provided by
Mobile Network Operators (MNO) will be used solely for intended purposes only and will not be
resold, redistributed, abandoned, or utilized for any antisocial activities including but not
limited to acts of terrorism, economic sabotage, activism, unrest, propaganda and so on.
• Irrevocably undertake to indemnify MNOs and hold it harmless from and against all cost
(including without limitation legal fees and expenses, claims, losses, liabilities, damages and
proceedings) whatsoever that the MNO may suffer or incur or that may arise as a result of a
breach of any of this undertakings.
• MNOs may continue to rely on this Indemnity Form and the Authorization Letter from the
Enterprise Customer unless and except to the extent that authorization is revoked or modified by
subsequent authorization from the Enterprise Customer and duly communicated to the MNO.
Q: Is the Operational TM required to perform corporate SIM registration?
A: No
Q: Can the Primary TM delegate the Operational TM to do the corporate SIM
registration?
A: No
Q: As a company, we want individual users to link their NIN, without providing a telecom
master's NIN. Will our lines be barred? Can we still get our full range of corporate services and
swaps?
A: The Lines will not be barred but for any service that requires government
validation, corporate process will not apply.
Q: Will the Primary TM go to an MNO’s service Center for the corporate SIM
registration?
A: The Primary TM shall go to any of their MNO’s approved service center for the
corporate SIM Registration.
Q: How will NIN be linked to lines used for Internet Of Things/Telemetry services (M2M, POS
etc.)?
A: Only the Primary TM’s NIN will be linked to lines used for Telemetry services.
The lines are the corporate IoT lines. Also, for this category, the Secondary NIN is not required.
Q: What are the other requirements for IOT/Telemetry services aside the Primary Telecom
Master NIN linking to all SIMs?
A: SIM security protocols shall be implemented on the Internet Of Things (IOT) SIM
profiles to ensure that SIMs can only be used for point-to-point data services specific to the URL
the corporate Internet Of Things customer is using. All other services shall be barred.
Q: What happens to the NIN linked to a line by a user upon exit from the company?
A: For cases where the SIMs are retained by the corporate entity, the primary and
secondary NINs will be delinked. The secondary NIN can be changed severally if the is a change in
the users. In this instance, a new NIN-SIM harmonization will also be required.
Q: Can a user visit any Mobile Network Operator (MNO) Service Center for a SIM
swap?
A: Yes. However, this must be requested through the primary/secondary TM
Q: How will a corporate SIM swap request be handled?
A: Corporate SIM swap request shall be attended by respective MNOs upon completion
of the SIM – NIN harmonization for corporate accounts.
Q: How can I as a staff of a company check if my NIN is linked to the company?
A: Staff of a corporate entity can engage their TMs to validate NIN linking
status.
Q: How can I unlink my NIN when I exit the company?
A: The request should be channeled through the TM who submits a formal request to
the MNOs
Q: Must individual NIN and Telco master NIN be provided for every swap?
A: Yes
Q: How secure is the storage of NIN details being provided to the Telecoms
companies?
A: The data is stored in compliance with applicable data storage and protection
standards.
Q: As a staff who intends to exit my place of employment, would I be able to de-link my NIN
from the Company’s records with the telecoms service provide. If yes, how long would it
take?
A: The request should be channeled through the TM who submits a formal request to
the MNOs
Q: What procedure will it take to unbar a line if it is not currently linked as no staff is
using the line?
A: Where applicable, primary and secondary NIN will be cascaded on the line. The
secondary NIN will be validated, and line will be unbarred.
Q: Whose secondary NIN is required for SIMs used on Desk phones and customer care help
lines in an organization?
A: The NIN of the head of department shall be linked to the SIMs.
Q: What happens to customers who do not want to link their personal NIN to lines used
temporarily for daily operations e.g., Traffic Managers, Road Safety Officers etc.
A: The NIN of the head of department shall be linked to the SIMs.
Q: We have devices that are used at our offices/branches and not assigned to a particular
person. Can the TMs NIN suffice as secondary NIN?
A: The NIN of the head of department shall be used as secondary NIN in this case.
Q: Some of our devices are used as stopgap and we do not have a permanent secondary user.
Whose Secondary NIN do we present?
A: The NIN of the Head of Department shall be linked to the SIMs in this case.
Q: Our devices are used for data only services and not voice. Do we still require providing
Secondary NIN?
A: Yes. Only corporate IOT services do not require secondary NIN.
